Privacy & Cookie Policy

Our intentions towards you and your data are benign. We are not an evil data gathering company that eagerly hoovers up data on you and everyone you have ever known, in order to manipulate you into doing something that you don’t want to do. We wish only to hold the data about you that you wish us to hold. We don’t and have no intention of benefitting in any way from your personal data, apart from when it helps us provide you with the best service, hops and hop products going. We care for your data the best way we can and make sure it is as secure as we are able to make it. If you don’t want to hear from us, then you won’t hear from us. We don’t want to be a pest as that will make no one happy. If you have any concerns, talk to us and we’ll do all we can to ensure you are happy with your relationship with us.
- The Simply Hops Team

What kind of information do we collect and how?

The most important reason that we collect personal data regarding you and your business is to allow us to facilitate the purchase of hops. We gather this information through a number of ways, including when you set up an account on our website, through a completed account application form or at times a sales or customer service representative may contact you directly to gather data that we require. To enable us to fulfil orders we will need to gather a minimum amount of information including your full name, contact number, email address, shipping address, billing address, VAT number and any payment details necessary. We will also gather the details of your brewery, such as name and address, should that be relevant. Where possible, we will gather additional information about your business to help us understand your needs as a customer, be able to communicate with you more accurately and offer products that you may find useful. This data will only be gathered in a transparent way and held with your express permission.

In addition to collecting data to facilitate sales, Simply Hops also collects data via our website, through a newsletter sign up service. This consists of an email address that is automatically uploaded and synced with our secure third-party email service by way of a CSV file, and used to send you newsletters and occasional updates. It will be used for no other reason.

Any information provided via social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram will not be recorded unless full consent is given to do so.

How do we use this information?

This information will be used for shipping your purchased goods and sending you newsletters via your email address. At no time will we use the information provided during a sale to sign you up to a newsletter, unless given complete consent. We will not contact you via these details unless directly related to the process of completing your order, unless it is necessary to use direct mail as a means of general communication. This includes but is not limited to the arranging of competition prizes and information regarding upcoming events.

How is this information shared, and who with?

Simply Hops will not share information unless directly related to the process of a sale. To pay for an order, we are required to share data with a third party, in this case World Pay. This data will remain private and is only used for the purpose of payment. When dealing directly with a sales team member, the information collected will be passed on to other team members and may be used to keep in touch regarding matters related to the contract or order created.

What is our legal basis for processing data?

The data collected in the ways mentioned above are required to be consistent with your consent, which you have the right to remove at any time. In this case, your data will be removed from our database and you will not be contacted again unless requested. This is in order to protect your vital interests, adhere to our legal obligations and maintain our desire to provide a personalised, safe and profitable service to you as our customers. If you believe at any point that your fundamental rights regarding your personal data are in question then this will be addressed immediately and without query.

Our goal is to be as transparent as possible regarding the information obtained in the running of Simply Hops. No information will be collected without direct consent and we aim to be as clear as possible about when personal data is gathered and used. If you have any questions regarding the use of your information, then do not hesitate to get in touch via enquiries@simplyhops.co.uk or through one of our social media platforms.
